Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster is coming to Switch on Sept. 14th, 2023, giving fans a chance to relive these decades-old GameCube classics with a fresh coat of paint and more. These are remakes that fans have been clamoring for for years now, and there’s no doubt many will be more than happy to jump in once again when the Switch updates arrive.

With the reveal of Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, some started to wonder if Bandai Namco had interest in reviving the franchise. Could these remasters be a hint at interest behind-the-scenes in a third entry in the franchise? Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

In an interview with Nintendo Everything, producer Koji Nakajima said that there are currently “no plans for a sequel.” The team’s focus right now is squarely on Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, so hopefully fans can enjoy those titles to the fullest.
