As you’re most likely aware, Sonic Origins is coming to the Switch on June 23rd, 2022. As a matter of fact, pre-orders for the game are live right now, but you can only plop your cash down for a digital version. That’s because SEGA currently has no plans for a physical release.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that fans are clamoring for boxed copies of Sonic Origins. SEGA of America social media manager, Katie Chrzanowski, took to Twitter to reiterate that Sonic Origins is digital-only, but did give a tiny sliver of hope for a physical release sometime down the road.

“There isn’t one planned at the moment, I have seen a lot of comments asking for one, so the team has been made aware of that, there is a want for a physical release.”

This is the point where you need to make your voice heard. If you want SEGA to put out a physical release for Sonic Origins, you need to speak up on everywhere SEGA has a social media presence. Make enough noise, and you could help change Sonic Origins’ future.

I won't pay $45 for old Sonic games I own multiple times over but I will pay 50-60 to have old Sonic games I own multiple over times over on a physical cartridge.

That whole silly chart they made, and none of the options included a physical cartridge.

Guess I'll wait for the physical then.

What do you mean by 'a digital version?' I was under the impression that all the included titles were the digital games.
