No plans for a physical release for Sonic Origins, but SEGA is listening
Let the fan campaign begin
As you’re most likely aware, Sonic Origins is coming to the Switch on June 23rd, 2022. As a matter of fact, pre-orders for the game are live right now, but you can only plop your cash down for a digital version. That’s because SEGA currently has no plans for a physical release.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that fans are clamoring for boxed copies of Sonic Origins. SEGA of America social media manager, Katie Chrzanowski, took to Twitter to reiterate that Sonic Origins is digital-only, but did give a tiny sliver of hope for a physical release sometime down the road.
“There isn’t one planned at the moment, I have seen a lot of comments asking for one, so the team has been made aware of that, there is a want for a physical release.”
This is the point where you need to make your voice heard. If you want SEGA to put out a physical release for Sonic Origins, you need to speak up on everywhere SEGA has a social media presence. Make enough noise, and you could help change Sonic Origins’ future.

2y agoI won't pay $45 for old Sonic games I own multiple times over but I will pay 50-60 to have old Sonic games I own multiple over times over on a physical cartridge.

2y agoThat whole silly chart they made, and none of the options included a physical cartridge.

2y agoWhat do you mean by 'a digital version?' I was under the impression that all the included titles were the digital games.
