Shantae devs react to world record speedrun on Game Boy Color

Speedrunner purpletissuebox recently got a new world record in the original Shantae game for Gameboy Color. To celebrate that achievement, IGN got Shantae’s creator, Erin Bozon, and director, Matt Bozon, to come together and watch the speedrun in full.
Purpletissuebox has been working on breaking this record for months, so you can imagine that he employs some tricks and techniques that even the game’s creators don’t know about. You can watch the speedrun with their commentary in its entirety in the video above.
