SEGA has had some considerable success in the movie industry following Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel, and now it seems the company is eager to expand with adaptations of their other properties.

Toru Nakahara, SEGA’s lead producer on the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies and Sonic Prime TV series, spoke to IGN about SEGA’s plans for movies and TV shows going forward, and it sounds like they have some pretty grandiose ideas for the Atlus side of things.

“Atlus’ worlds are filled with high drama, cutting-edge style and compelling characters. Stories like those from the Persona franchise really resonate with our fans and we see an opportunity to expand the lore like no one has seen — or played — before. Together, Sega and Atlus, are working to bring these stories and worlds to life through new mediums and for new audiences.”

With SEGA particularly mentioning Persona, it seems like that will be the property they’re looking to adapt first. We’ll just have to hang tight and see what plans are as the months roll on.
