Square Enix’s upcoming RPG The DioField Chronicle now has an official release date of September 22, 2022 in Japan. In addition to that, Japan will be getting a trial version of the game a month earlier on August 10th. This trial version will feature the game’s first chapter, as well as an option to transfer save data to the full game upon its release. This info comes from Square Enix’s recent stream featuring new game details, then was confirmed in a follow-up tweet, which also showcases some new artwork.

A Japanese release date is a good sign for strategy RPG fans who have been looking forward to this game, but we still don’t have a confirmed release date for North America or any other regions. Right now the vague “2022” is the only thing we have to go on. Still, this is encouraging, and hopefully means we’ll be able to play this one sooner rather than later.

If you haven’t checked out The DioField Chronicle yet, see below for the game’s announcement trailer and some more details.
