Twitter reveals the most tweeted-about games of first-half 2022
Zelda rounds out the top 10
Not surprisingly, people flock to Twitter to talk about videogames. Twitter has shared a breakdown of the gaming chatter on their service in the first half of 2022, and once again, there was an overwhelming amount of game discussions to get in on.
In general, roughly 1.5 billion tweets about gaming were made on Twitter in the first half of 2022. This marks a whopping 36% increase year-over-year. As for the games people were talking about most, you can see the top 10 tweeted gaming topics below.

- Final Fantasy
- Project Sekai
- Apex Legends
- Elden Ring
- Fate/Grand Order

- The Legend of Zelda
While there’s no doubt The Legend of Zelda is talked about every year, it’s pretty surprising to see it make the top 10 chatter for the first half of 2022. Sadly, if we had to guess, we’d say it was the discussion of Breath of the Wild’s sequel that led to the bulk of discussion. I can’t imagine how many angry tweets are out there about that!
