INTI CREATES reveals new game 'Grim Guardians: Demon Purge'

Japanese game developer INTI CREATES has revealed their latest game, titled Grim Guardians: Demon Purge. The reveal comes ahead of the game’s showcase at BitSummit X-Road, an indie game exhibition happening August 6th and 7th, 2022 in Japan. While a release date is still to be determined, it is currently slated to release on Nintendo Switch along with Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series systems, and PC via Steam.

Grim Guardians: Demon Purge will center around two demon-hunting sisters named Shinobu Kamizono and Maya Kamizono. Shinobu and Maya are students who, upon returning to school, find a demonic castle in its place. The two must use their different abilities to fight their way through the castle’s different challenges and bosses. Artwork of the two characters can be seen in the gallery below.

The gameplay itself will consist of players controlling both characters individually, using their unique abilities and attributes to surpass the many obstacles they’ll face when they arrive. The game also features 2-player simultaneous co-op and many options to change the game’s difficulty, called the “Style System.” A first look at gameplay can be seen in the trailer below.
