The Classic Tetris World Championships has existed for years now, and it’s the go-to place for classic Tetris fans to strut their stuff. That event will indeed continue this year, but now it’s time to make some room for fans of more modern Tetris experiences as well.

The Tetris Effect: Connected World Championship 2022 has been announced, and it’ll bring together the world’s best Tetris Effect: Connected players for battle. The tournament will include three modes and a special competition that will have players run through all three modes, gauntlet-style.

Registration for this event has opened today and runs until Aug. 31st, 2022. The action itself will run from September through Mid-October, which is how players will attempt to qualify for the Tetris Effect: Connected World Championship finale. Prizes will be given to the finalists of the Tetris Effect: Connected World Championship in each mode, as well the grand champion of the Tri-Effect-A Finals.
