Pokémon Scarlet/Violet 'Competitive Play' trailer

As promised, Pokemon Co. had something to share on Pokemon Scarlet/Violet to wrap up the 2022 Pokemon World Championships. Rather just sharing a few words on the game, Pokemon Co. actually put together a new trailer for the game, which you can check out above.

This trailer focuses on introducing players to the competitive aspect of gameplay. The 2022 Pokémon World Championships is certainly the perfect place for this kind of reveal! Now we can finally get a closer look at what one-on-one battles will look like in Scarlet and Violet, and there’s no doubt they’ll be more engaging than ever.

One of the most exciting moments in the trailer is the reveal of a new Pokémon called Cyclizar. This Pokémon is Dragon/Normal-type, and it looks like quite the fierce competitor in battle.

Along with that, we got to see various moves and abilities, including Terablast, which changes type based on terastallisation. There’s also a new move called Shed Tail, which will create a substitute and then allow you to switch out. Finally, the Loaded Dice item will make multi-hit moves more likely to land numerous times.
