Good job RMC! This article obviously took a lot of time and effort, and you really nailed it. I just wanted you to know that we appreciate all the love and work that you put into pieces like this. Thanks for the recap!

Nothing can top the news and trailer at the end. Great to finally have a title for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

1y ago

Great to have date for Zelda. Bit further out than I expected, but will be worth the wait.

1y ago

It was a pretty good direct, obviously the biggest news was Zelda's release date.

Funny how wrong those "insiders" got it though, as this was hardly a "Zelda blowout."

Let's remember this the next time an insider starts spouting rumo- oh what someone said Switch 2 is going to be announced tomorrow?!

No Metroid! We got Grubbed again! His accuracy rate has now dropped to 21%.

1y ago

Now I might be misremembering, but didn't Nintendo say they were holding off on announcing the title of the Breath of the Wild sequel because it would be too revealing? What exactly about "Tears of the Kingdom" demanded secrecy?

Oh Nintendo, you so crazy.

Edited 1 time

Perhaps Zelda dies in this game. Hence Tears of the Kingdom.

Because the title would have spoiled the Queen's death.

Joking aside, I assume the 'tears' are the Sheikah and this will be some sort of orgin, revelation story.

I'm glad to see that we had a proper Direct. I felt it was a strong showing, though notably missing the Metroid Prime, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess remasters. I'm particularly excited for the upcoming N64 games releasing to the Expansion Pass. Despite not being the heavyweights of this Direct, I liked what I saw from SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake and Fae Farm. Of course, I'll be picking up Tears of the Kingdom.

Well that was PACKED! Nice trailer for BOTW2 or TOTK from now I guess.... Octopath 2, and Nintendo even got me to upgrade my NSO subscription... Oh and more Bayonetta 3 footage OF COURSE!

T'was way better than Sony's SOP, BUT they had more VR stuff and...Project Eve which is now Stellar Blade.

Good times to have both Switch and PS5 for sure. When will I ever get the time to play all this?

So far from the lot of titles announced, wish I could pick them up now. There are a few that have me completely, and a title that I'd be skeptical about.
Front Mission remakes, Rune Factory 3 Special and likely a tentative RF6, Ib, Tunic, and Fae Farm have my interest.

Somewhat skeptical about Story of Seasons: Wonderful Life, as I've been badly bitten by that entry of the series due to the GC and PS2 games. Didn't play the PS3/PS4 port; but what we had as HM:DS I liked.

We all love RMC, but this recap is the official one, straight from the horse's mouth, written by Nintendo's public relations team, not RMC. Every announcement is followed by its respective written piece.
