GN Version 3.1

”It was a bigger iPod Touch. …There were no surprises for me.” - Satoru Iwata, Nintendo

While Iwata wasn’t impressed with the iPad, he also mentioned the rumors of his supposed comments on the DS successor. Iwata even throws the Wii HD into the mix, questioning whether motion sensing for the DS or a high-def version of the Wii would interest consumers.

”I question whether those features would be enough to get people to buy new machines.”

That was quickly followed up by a statement from Iwata where he reconfirmed that Nintendo is hard at work on new platforms. That’s all he said on that topic, unfortunately.

Finally, Iwata had some closing comments on the world of 3d gaming, much like what we saw with Avatar on the 360/PS3.

“I have doubts whether people will be wearing glasses to play games at home. How is that going to look to other people?”

It’s going to look like people wearing glasses. Seems a lot less silly than you look when using motion controls! Thanks to Cypher for the heads up.
