Japanese Wii with DVD functionality confirmed
The official word from Nintendo…
“There are currently plans to release a version of Wii in Japan featuring DVD playback. There are currently no plans to bring this model to Europe or the US.”
Nintendo also was questioned about the partnership with CNN for the Wii News channel, but they wouldn’t commit to an answer.
“We have currently announced no deals with any news or weather service provider for Wii channels.”
Now do you think that this is the final word on Wii DVD playback, or are we going to hear from another Nintendo rep that tells us the opposite?! Seems that is the way things have been going lately.
