I immediately thought 'Didn't we know this already?', but it was just Tetra from the WW world that was announced before, wasn't it. Still a 'no duh' confirmation.

Really curious as to what they'll be like in the Wii U version.

Meh... Saria? Skull Kid? And seriously.... this needs online play..... desperately so...

Really hope that I can buy the 3DS-version's extra as DLC to Wii U for I DON'T WANT to buy the SAME game twice!

SSB4 is the exception(?) for those games are at LEAST different from each other

A better idea whould(?) be to let Toon Link be unlocked with the Toon Link/Link Amiibo, for the spinner weapon is already unlocked with those Amiibo anyway

SSB 3DS & Wii U are not really that different. The major difference is the fact one brings back a bunch of Brawl modes with a crappy "party" mode and the other lacks tons of features and has a poor man's version of the temple labyrinth from Melee's Adventure Mode. The stages are different, but this game is adding new stages as well.

For what it's worth, we already have confirmation of 3 new characters, at least 1 new stage (likely 2 for TWW), 1 new boss, and a new story mode section. It also has implications of new weapons, costumes & Adventure Maps to compensate for the new characters and potentially even the DLC characters that were shafted in the Wii U version.

Not to mention the fact the game now includes the ability to switch between multiple characters in-battle instead of just playing one. Who knows what else has been changed?

Depending on how much stuff it actually adds, hell, maybe it will end up worth it for the new content alone if it'd cost just as much to add it to Wii U without it.

I'd love to be able to have the characters, but the biggest problem with the DLC characters in the Wii U game is the fact that you can't really use them. They don't unlock anything in Adventure Mode, so you have to play all the base characters anyway. The 3DS version could finally give them stages where they are required to play and will get some light. Not to mention, I'd want the new stages & the switch ability too.

What a surprise. >_> I just want to know whether or not people who won't be buying another version of the game will be able to purchase the new content separately at some point.

I agree with those who've said we should get this stuff as DLC for the Wii U version. It's not only a matter of money, it's just that I really don't want to "lose" all my progress on that game and start over on the 3DS. In fact, if it had cross save (kind of like MH3U) I'd probably get it since I really like playing on handhelds.

Makes me wonder if I could just rent it and unlock the characters on the wii U that way.

I mean, I don't see why you couldn't. Having said that, it depends on how they're unlocked.

Tetra is playable in Story/Legend Mode, so probably unlocked via completing TWW section. The King of Hyrule is also part of story mode, but seemingly a background character (like Agitha or Ruto) and Toon Link is not part of the story, so potentially unlocked via Adventure Mode.

So you'd feasibly have to beat the game & play whatever unlocks Toon Link FIRST, then transfer them. I'd be surprised if you could just transfer all the new characters from the start.

Not to mention, we only know of 3 characters so far (maybe 4). There could be several more that would need to be unlocked first.

I really hope the 3DS version will pace the way to a 2nd Hyrule Warriors game.

Nintendo & Koei-Tecmo would be stupid not to make a sequel. The only thing I'm sad about is the fact it probably won't hit Wii U.
