This, after selling the Seattle Mariners. . .
Anyone else think this a little, conspicuous(or something)?

The word you're looking for is suspicious.

Conspicuous still works though, right?
I just found it strange that they actually put effort into something local that would affect them on some level around where they live(based on recent events), and yet there is zero noted effort for EB3 localization(something the states have been asking for, for years).

And ST3?
Yeah, right ¬_¬.

Why out of the blue like that, and NOT a smash char when it really would have been a fitting surprise?

I don't get it! Are you saying StarTropics3?

Care to explain for me?

How does this relate to that?

1) There is no EB3. There's Mother 3/EarthBound 2.
2) There was no localization required for Zoda's Revenge or Star Tropics. These games were developed for the West and released in the U.S. on NES in English. Therefore, this is not a case of Nintendo translating some long lost NES game instead of Mother 3.

1) There is no EB3. There's Mother 3/EarthBound 2.

Is Earthbound 2 its official name? Or is that just what people are calling it? Because there's literally no reason it can't be called Earthbound 3, since it is the third entry in the series.

Mother 3 has no official "localized" name, Mother 3 is it's official 'English' name.
Nintendo finally localized Mother 1 and called it Earthbound Beginnings. If Nintendo localizes Mother 3 why would they call it Earthbound 3? You're right there is no reason is CAN'T be call Earthbound 3.....
Earthbound Beginnings -> Earthbound -> Earthbound 3
In this list it makes it sound like Earthbound is the first game where as Beginnings is a prequel (or Earthbound 0), leaving people who know nothing about the franchise to wonder where Earthbound 2 is. If Nintendo goes the number route, it will most likely end up as Earthbound 2 to keep in line with the "first" Earthbound game. But I could see them going the subtitle route, Earthbound Endings/Afterwards/Final/etc.

There was no localization required for Zoda's Revenge or Star Tropics.

I know, but then, why specifically now and not before? Why at All even(especially for the WiiU/Console and Not the 3Ds/Portable; heck, why not for both)?

this is not a case of Nintendo translating some long lost NES game instead of Mother 3.

So its not that they can't, they're just lazy/biased/etc?
Why did they for EBB then?

They need to 'complete the set' already.
Also BOTH ST games at once were loaded in, so. . .

This comes out for 3DS, I might get it just to show people what ST is.

I know, but then, why specifically now and not before?

Why does anything happen at any time? Sometimes the time a game is released has meaning. Sometimes it doesn't. Your assumption is that the release timing has meaning. There's no requirement for it to mean anything, though.
Why did they for EBB then?

You're assuming they did a new localization of Mother 1 with Earthbound Beginnings. That is an incorrect assumption. NOA had translated Mother 1 on the NES back in the 90s, but it was never released in the U.S. Something about RPGs not being popular in U.S., I think. Games are not free to release, after all, so they probably figured it'd lose money to release it on NES even though it was translated. In any case, they did not need to do a new English translation for Mother 1, so this is still not a case of translating some long lost NES game instead of Mother 3.
I hope they do bring over Mother 3 officially. Would love it. However StarTropics' release has no inherent indications for EarthBound/Mother one way or the other.

There's no requirement for it to mean anything, though.

In other words, you believe it to be purely coincidental, despite recent events?
So then, why Both versions? If so, Why not for both systems while they were at it?

You're assuming they did a new localization of Mother 1 with Earthbound Beginnings. That is an incorrect assumption.

You're implying the presumed assumption. They HAD that, for years even. They released EB2(or whatever it's called for the SNES) on VC, but having EBZ, didn't release it around THAT time also but just barely recently, because It was one of Iwata's last wishes(or something, just like a sudden/abrupt 25 Ann for the return of World Champs, and not ONE this year).

However StarTropics' release has no inherent indications for EarthBound/Mother one way or the other.

Wait, I think you didn't read the whole thing clearly, or don't get what it is I was getting at. . .

Does this version allow you to dip the paper into water?

It would need to include it, Nintendo can't expect people to go online to find out the secret code.
Seeing as the Wii version included a digital piece of paper that you could dip into a digital pale of water (which was in the digital manual). Very nice touch in my opinion.
I'm positive it will be the same this time. I'm going to pay my 1$ to upgrade it tomorrow. Can't wait, I look forward to playing this gem again. Smile
