Platinum stresses the importance of having original IP

Coming from a USGamer interview with Platinum's Atsushi Inaba...

"Because we don't have our own original IP, we don't have the chance to develop it, publish it. We're not used to the cycle of making one. We're trying to get used to the cycle of making sequels. The company doesn't really have a future unless we develop our own original IPs."

You might think Platinum has a handful of original IP, and while they do in the actual creation, those brands are co-owned by other companies like SEGA.

Which is sad. They are still the best. For all their original games are their own IPs for the cration alone. I just started with MG Rising today (and still playing) and I'm hooked beyond comprehension.

Keep up the good work.

Now the Transformers and Turtles games I see not being original IPs though, but Bayo, Ookami, V Joe, TW 101 etc are, in my eyes, pure Platinum.

As much as I like their games, I would like to see them evolve a bit. They are still too gamey and not very immersive. It doesn't have to be one or the other. I feel like gameplay wise they haven't really added much to the core gameplay since... DMC even.
