European Nintendo Downloads - October 13, 2016

Nintendo eShop (3DS)

Disney Magical World 2 (Nintendo, available on October 14) - €39.99/£34.99

Live your dream life alongside fan-favourite Disney characters in Disney Magical World 2! Adventure with Elsa and Olaf from Disney Frozen, dance with Disney Princesses, soar with Mickey in Magical Dream parades, and more, all while snapping photos to share your memories. The magic is in your hands, so use your wand to solve a ghostly mystery along the way!

Chase: Cold Case Investigation - Distant Memories - (Aksys Games) - €5.99/£6.00  (€4.79/£4.80 with my Nintendo reward)
Chase: Cold Case Investigations ~Distant Memories~ is an adventure mystery game from the mind of Taisuke Kanasaki, director of the famed Hotel Dusk: Room 215! Join the exploits of two gritty detectives whose sense of justice and raw instinct drive them to seek the truth. Put your sleuthing skills to the challenge by re-investigating old crime scenes and solving cold cases by searching for clues and interrogating perps! Find leads by diving head first into old investigation notes, crime scene photos and eye witness reports as you put together all the pieces. Once you have a solid lead, interrogate persons of interest to see what they do (or don't) know. Grill perps by asking tough questions, but be careful! Ask the wrong questions and your Interrogation Gauge will deplete. Ask too many wrong questions and it's Game Over!

Ash (CIRCLE Ent.) - €3.99/£3.99
Ash is a classic turn-based RPG, featuring a massive, fully-realized world with lush visuals, and a wonderfully compelling story. These are strange days for Aghaus. By order of the Magistrate, the Royal Guard is to assemble for deployment in two days’ time. It has been years since I last left the capital, and further still that I can remember such a command being issued! But what need is there for a Royal Guard, when no King sits upon the throne? Though my oath binds me to his service, the Magistrate is not my liege. He rules in the absence of a rightful heir. My men await their orders; they too are uneasy. It is for their sake that I stay my tongue, and place my faith in the Almighty that my fears are unfounded. Tomorrow, we make for the East.

Appalling week for Wii U. If ever there was a call for Virtual Console titles, this was it, given that Paper Mario: ColoUr Splash, came out last week, their last exclusive title. The discounts are dreadful too. They've completely given up.

Yeah - pretty slim pickings. Small correction - discounts for non-Nintendo titles are decided by individual publishers/developers. Nintendo has nearly zero involvement in those discounting decisions.

To be fair, Never Alone for 3€ is an awesome discount on a pretty good game.

It's been this cheap before and most of us already own it.

In case anybody else is wondering: Chase lasts 2-3 hours according to Famitsu. Will buy!

Another World is well worth the discount price - but get it on the Wii U instead of the 3DS because there's no 3D effect on the 3DS version.

I'll be getting Colour Splash and Steamworld Heist this week, so I'm not too concerned by the lack of anything new for the WiiU. Come to think of it, Hollow Knight and World to the West are the last titles I'm waiting for on Wii U.

Seems like a Nintendo Direct week.
