Wondering what Setsubun is? So was I, as I'd never heard of it. Now I know what it's all about! Setsubun is the day before the beginning of Spring, which Japan likes to celebrate. One of the festivities includes throwing roasted soybeans (known as fortune beans) out the door at the male head of the household. He'll be wearing a mask, playing the part of a demon. When the rest of the family members throw the beans at him, they yell out "Demons out! Luck in!" This is done to ward off any bad spirits/luck in order to start off Spring fresh.

Now you know why Nintendo has released a paper Bowser mask, which you can grab right here!
