Never got around to playing any of these shamefully... I need this collection

The low-fps gameplay footage featured in this trailer is worrying.

I'd be more inclined to import a Japanese Wii U and buy the fully accurate SD3 on Virtual Console, than to risk paying SqEx for a version that plays at the low-framerates shown in this trailer.

(Goes to look up the earlier clip of SqEx staff playing Seiken 3 on the Switch to see if the framerate is any better there)

SD3 never came to the Wii U VC, or any VC. This is the first time that the game has ever been rereleased.

Though yeah, part of me hopes the framerate is for dramatic effect more than anything else, as I wanna import this and play these games for the first time ever. (Well, kinda in the case of SD1 as I beat the remake) Would be dumb if they had massive tech issues...

Sheesh, ¥4,800 (~$42.66 USD) for a collection of 3 emulated games... that's rather steep.

Considering the average prices on Virtual Console ($8 for Super NES, $4 for Game Boy), getting these on Virtual Console would be $20.

It doesn't even include the GBA or Vita/Android/iOS remakes of SD1, either. If it included all versions (there are several differences between them), that'd be a bit easier to accept... but this is just absurd for this price.

I can't help but wonder if third-parties are purposely pricing Switch titles high to discourage sales... or to just gouge Switch owners.

Japanese games are always priced high. Go look at the Japanese Eshop and you'll see romance of the third priced around ¥9500.

Edit: just checked and it jumped up to ¥10,584 and Zelda is ¥7,538 and Dragon quest is ¥9,504.

now that's more like it!
then again, the Vita (THE VITA!) is getting a 3D remake of Seiken 1 along with a new entry in the series. Insult to injury? The latter is being released on mobile phones as well.

and nintndo are getting what everyone played nearly 20 years ago. No trolling there no.

That's pretty cool. I want it.

This will most likely never see a release in the West if they don't use the Fan-Translation for SD 3.

Also, like many people pointed out, marketing this Collection as a full price title is insane. This really is killing the good mood of this announcement. Even with the inclusion of the new 3D Remake of the original Game Boy Game (available for Mobile and Vita), this price would still be too steep. But we alreafy know, the Collection will only include Emulations of the original Games.

If they release that as retail in english i will die of happiness!

But i don't believe in that.

I really don't expect this in the US since Square never bothered with the Dragon Quest 1-3 collecton on Wii.

Our only hope outside a rare bone Square could throw us is if NoA buys a localization license or XSEED haggles with Square for localization rights.

This would be such a gigantic roundhouse kick in the guts after fans have been begging for this game for over 20 years. I hope we as fans can at least band together and put the pressure on SE if they won't do it themselves.

Best bet is to contact them directly yourself (just like any other demand/request from companies). I see too many usually default to Change.org for making any kind of wave. It's also why Op. Rainfall was so successful. Listing them below, since I will do the same post work.

Contact e-mail addresses;

Nice! Good going. Definitely going to mail them. Hope everybody gets in on the action.

They could remove SD3 (or just not add it in general) and instead add... Secret of Evermore! Obviously not story related but the spirit is there.

Otherwise yea interesting to see collections popping up already, albeit at a strange price.

As somebody who legitimately enjoyed Secret of Evermore back in the day, I have to say that I still would rather have SD3. But to your point, why not throw Evermore in as well?

True. I only say that because I really doubt they would go through the trouble of translating it, or heck even using a fan translation. Unless of course they leave this up to NoA as usual.

I'll go ahead and be the pessimist here... I think Square Enix will do the lazy thing and not localize this. Seiken Densetsu 3 is probably too much work for them, and they'd probably have to re-localize SD1 because of the way it was rebranded in North America.

But believe me, if they DID localize it I would happily buy it.

We need this !!!
I want this so much on my Switch, come on Square Enix don't be ridiculous !!! SD3 deserves to be finally localized !!!

I would love to get it here!

Do NOT expect to see this localized, spare yourselves some disappointment right now.
