Kirby Battle Royale will not feature stereoscopic 3D

Seems like Nintendo isn't all that interested in using stereoscopic 3D on the 3DS anymore. They may have done it with Metroid: Samus Returns, but the bulk of their recent releases doesn't have the feature. You can add Kirby Battle Royale to that list, as it won't feature the support either. I guess that's what happens when you have so many different 2DS units out there!

It's one of the rare way I can see 3D with. From the start it have been like candy for my eyes... Discovering what you all get by seeing things in 3D was... eye opening (pun semi-intended). Even more with the New 3DS. I wasn't using it a lot before because it was always breaking up, but since I got the New 3DS it's always on.
You may not like it, but it's very rude to crap all over it... And doing it in replies to every single person saying they like it is really a jerk move and totally uncalled-for. I'm disappointed.

dissapointed. Even triforce heroes had 3D

Why? I'm not trying to push my opinions on others but the 3D for the 3DS isn't that good. It doesn't improve gameplay. In fact, it makes me sick.

Because it's the console's premier exclusive feature, that's why. And it is good. I'm in the camp who has that slider at full tilt permanently. Who does glasses-free 3D better than 3DS? I don't think it was added to "improve gameplay" but rather to create a sense of immersion that can't be found elsewhere, and it definitely does that. For what it's worth, it dramatically improves gameplay in titles designed for 3D, such as Mario 3D Land.

First-party games forgoing 3D with with no compelling technical reason is an abomination. Wasn't going to pick up this game anyway, but this would have changed my mind if I were.

The problem is that Nintendo didn't do enough games like 3D Land to support the 3D function. The 3-D itself is completely optional and that it doesn't really do anything special as the feature is so redundant for the majority of the times.

Just what effects do you see in Triple deluxe and Planet Robobot? Only Kirby hitting right towards you if he gets smashed by a hammer.

Its just a redundant feature that does nothing nor does it do anything gameplay wise. Atleast the Wii U had games that made you use the gamepad.

Heck, a lot of 3DS games don't even use much of the gyro feature as well as the touch screen.

The feature is what brings people in but I think after a while, people didn't care. I'm talking about system owners. I stopped using the 3D pretty fast as it made me sick. You're making this feature sound bigger than it actually is.

"First-party games forgoing 3D with with no compelling technical reason is an abomination. " Lol okay. Someone is taking this too seriously.

I'd hate it if it made me sick too, but it isn't even mildly uncomfortable for me when cranked up at 100%... maybe that's the big factor in whether someone loves it or hates it. Love it, I do. I think it makes games look much more interesting, at worst, and the added depth perception actually helps the player at best. I'm going to miss it now that it's gone, but hey... the market has spoken, and it's probably for the best that the full potential of a system can be used instead of simultaneously rendering two perspectives.

At the end, if you're talking about the 3DS and Switch, they're different systems and can appeal to different people.

I don't understand why they can't at least allow the New 3DS systems to use the function. That should be doable. I understand if the old model isn't powerful enough, but the New users shouldn't have to be short-changed because of that.

Because 3D is a useless feature...

Nah, it's the truth.

I love it when people pass their subjective opinions off as an objective truth. :P

Good for you? (20 characters)

Not really. I think the issue is 3D just doesn't work for everyone. I enjoy it when it works but it breaks up too much, even on N3DS. I think it's just one of those things where it works for some people and it doesn't for others.

I don't think it's a power thing, I think it's a budget thing.

And people wonder why others want the 3DS to die. Its crap like this. The 3D was like, the one thing it had over the switch. Now it doesn't even have that for a lot of new games.

So people have silly reasons for wanting the 3DS to die? I'm not sure if you know this but the 3DS and Switch are different devices that fit different needs. Nintendo is supporting both systems and there's no reason not to. The 3DS is a handheld and the Switch is a home console. Nintendo normally has a handheld and home console out the same time. You must be new to Nintendo games.

The 3D is not something over the Switch at all. The 3D sucks. If we're comparing the two, I think the 3DS is more portable than the Switch is. I can carry a 3DS in my pocket. My friends carries their Switch devices in their backpacks.

3D is a useless feature and Nintendo realized that.

If I detach the joycons I can carry the Switch in my pockets just fine. Two joycons on one side, switch unit on the other. Yes, its a bit bulky, but some phones are almost as big.

The 3D might not be the most amazing thing, but it works, and the switch does not have it. Take that away and there's no reason to want to play a game on it versus the switch.

"Take that away and there's no reason to want to play a game on it versus the switch." Lol wtf?

What are you talking about? That makes no sense. I play the system because I like the games on it. What does the Switch have to do with that? Seriously, what are you even talking about?

Work on your reading comprehension and re read my comment. Think of the pros and cons of buying a game for one over the other. If you have no intention of buying a switch, I could see why you would want it on 3DS. But as someone who has both, I see no real to release this on 3DS over switch.

I understood your comment. How about you watch how you talk to me? How about that? The 3DS and Switch are not in direct competition with each other and people should stop treating them like they are.

You asked several times what I was talking about. If you understood you wouldn't be asking me. The only thing that separates the two platforms now is the price. If they want 3DS to be its own thing, they should earn it by using the key feature they named it after.

That's your opinion.

They're different devices.

Eh... I have a N3DS and I'm fine with this. I barely use the 3D anyhow. Samus Returns is probably the only game I've played some in 3D in years.

Good. People need to realize the 3D on the 3DS is crap.

I'm sorry if you have some sort of condition with your eyes.

But I don't care what you think. I'll say whatever I want. I haven't broken any rules. People express aggressive opinions on here all the time and no one does anything. Like when people bring up the illogical argument of the 3DS and Switch not being able to coexist. I really don't care if a stranger is disappointed in me. You shouldn't care that much.

[EDIT] Sorry, double post caused by my Wii U glitching.

if you don't like you can always turn it off, so it's a non-issue, but for people like me who really enjoys the 3D effect of the 3Ds it's sad that I can't have the option to use on that game.

If people enjoy it I really don't see any reason why they shouldn't

Because Nintendo realized it's a useless feature. Their fans just have to catchup. Smile

I'm just going to assume you haven't used a New 3DS or a New 3DS XL? The 3D effect is dramatically improved thanks to the eye-tracking feature, and unless it heavily affects any given game's performance, I ALWAYS have it on.
I LOVE the 3D and just recently, Samus Returns use of it made my jaw drop. Just because you don't like a certain feature doesn't make it objectively bad. There are lots of fans of the 3DS' 3D effect, and those people get disappointed every time a developer pulls a move like this.
What does it affect you if they include an optional feature that others might appreciate? That's just selfish.

Nope. There's no reason to buy a newer version of a system I already have.

I don't think it needs to be included and if people don't like that, they can not buy the game. I never use the 3D on my 3DS. After a while, it makes me sick and hurts my eyes. It's not a good feature.

Being selfish isn't a crime.

Nintendo clearly doesn't care about the feature you fans are so in love with. They made a new 2DS that they're pushing as their new handheld so I really don't think the outcry on this site will matter to them.

Soooo... you say the 3D is bad even though you can't comment on thehardware that people say does it good? I found that it had A LOT of shortcomings on the original model, but the New models blow the old ones out of the water. No one's said you had to buy it, I just asked if you had seen it in action or not, which you just admitted to not having, thereby invalidating a lot of your opinion on the matter.

So an optional feature makes you queasy? Then just turn it off and be done with it. Is it fair that a lot of people who want that certain, once again, OPTIONAL feature won't get it because YOU don't like it? Choice is good. Choice pleases everyone! Everyone who wants to use it can do so, everyone who doesn't can turn it off, everyone wins!

Selfishness is not a crime, no. It just makes you come across as a bit of a douche. No one likes a douche. Don't be a douche. Okay?

If Nintendo doesn't care, then why did they just release a SNES-themed New 3DS XL and a Metroid-themed New 3DS XL? Wouldn't it have been better to release them as New 2DS XLs instead if that's the version they want to push?

I'm talking about the 3DS. Why should I have to talk about the New 3DS? Whether people like it or not isn't my problem. I don't care what you guys like it and I don't care what you think about my opinion.

The feature sucks. Nintendo stopped using it. People should get over it.

I'll act however I want. I haven't broken any rules.

I haven't heard anything about that but they're definitely pushing the 2DS.

Nintendo isn't even manufacturing and selling the old 3DS models any longer. If you want the 3D effect now, the only version you can buy is the New 3DS XL unless you're looking at the second-hand market. I dare you to actually try one of them and honestly claim the 3D is worthless after that.

I have no reason to buy a device that is useful for two games. I don't think it's wrong to judge the 3D on the 3DS. Yes there's a newer device but it doesn't change what I have said.

And I think you're wrong. Nintendo took the criticism to heart and made a better product, and you keep criticizing their old product as if the new one never happened.
And once again, I've never said that you should buy one, just try one.

So much 3D hate here. Without the depth of the 3D feature, I wouldn't be as good of a gunner in Monster Hunter.
I like Mario Kart 7 because of the depth and how it better lets you gauge the distance of the turns.
The immersive world of Hyrule and Termina are so much better when you really feel part of it.
Stages are much more immersive in the Kirby games and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

I was one of those people who thought 3DS should be phased out faster, but then I started playing again, and it really made me realize there is a place for it, but only if the 3D feature is being utilized. That's the definitive point to me. The 3D doesn't suck at all to me.

Maybe HAL decided they want the higher poly count and higher framerate for this game that disabling 3D allows them

Up until I had to get new glasses that made me no longer able to see stereoscopic 3D at all, I loved the stereoscopic 3D that some games and apps had. It added depth to game worlds although the stereoscopic 3D could be seen as gimmicky in apps like Swapnote/Swapdoodle. Stereoscopic 3D added the ability to judge depth in 3D platformers so you didn't strictly have to use character shadows to gauge your jumps anymore.

Stereoscopic 3D made games a lot more fun to look at and could even enhance the atmosphere a game world could have like if you're in a horror-themed world and having a stereoscopic 3D jump scare happen would be quite fun (and scary)! XD

Before my new glasses, I left my 3D slider cranked to max. I miss being able to view stereoscopic 3D and am disappointed Nintendo gave up on it. I do understand it takes more of the 3DS's power to render in stereoscopic 3D and that some game makers would prefer to disable stereoscopic 3D to get a performance boost for their games, but I hate seeing such a neat and useful feature being dropped like it was cancerous.

Hell Nintendo is even slowly moving away from motion controls only having gyro controls only for Switch. I liked the IR pointing of FPS games on Wii and Wii U. =<
