Forbes Japan ranks Nintendo the fourth most trusted company in the world

Forbes Japan has a pretty high opinion of Nintendo. The outlet has put together a Top 20 for the most-trusted companies around the world, placing Nintendo in the 4th spot overall. Nintendo was beaten out by Siemens, Michelin Group and Alphabet, but was ahead of heavy-hitters like Walt Disney, Carlsberg and Apple.

If Alphabet is at the top of a Most Trusted list then that list must be a joke list. I mean, who seriously trusts Google here? Google is a pretty insidious company that's working its way into every single facet of our lives and has far too much control and influence over most of the stuff we count on these days, imo. And, it really does serve the best interests of the corporations out there over anything else (and you can see one example of this with how YouTube handles the whole Let's Plays stuff).

Note: Alphabet is just the new parent name for Google (and I personally think it did this basically so most people don't realize just how much stuff Google actually lords over, which allows it to gain more and more power and control with most of Joe Public being none the wiser).

Too true, but it makes very little difference what Forbs says. Everybody who reads into companies will have the opinion settled before Forbs could sway them. This is not different than those Top 10 lists you see on junk sites.

I trust Google to get me good directions and find out what restaurants are close when I'm in a new part of town... So in that sense, I trust them. I trust their data is good, since they are in the data business. I just also trust that my data is also something they want to collect, and people should be aware of that. But I also trust them with my instant backups of writing, art, school work, etc., without which I would have been screwed many times over. I get my phone service though them, rely on their operating system on my smartphone, have used their browser exclusively for almost a decade, etc. I do trust them to be the best at this stuff, however much they might also be a company that makes money and expands. Some people seem to be mad they are a company and not Starfleet. They are as close to a TNG Starfleet as 2017 Earth has, though.

I've only found those with something they wanna hide are the most critical of Google, while those that are more productive don't mind much other than ad data collection (which we can all agree is kind of annoying).

I'm not sure if you have heard of the all the situations going on regarding 'Wrong think' policing and questionable youtube trafficking.

If you look into it, Google isn't as squeaky clean as you may think. Just because you haven't been affected by it doesn't mean the problems are not validated.

I agree. In the last two years Google went from a company I really trust to a company I'm trying to find alternatives to. This past year they've been pulling some really sneaky shenanigans.

Unfortunately, what you said about google is not far from the truth. Especially with recent events. Which is a shame.

Who trusts any company? Their sole purpose is to extract money from you.

I don’t trust Nintendo anymore than I would trust a Nigerian Prince

If I can still use their products 10, 20, 50 years down the line, you'd bet i'd trust that company more than any prince.

Pretty sure that prince will still be emailing me in 20 years ;)

What does this list even mean? Dumb list.

lol alphabet, I trust them to spread the facist way to all countries all people , straight propaganda for the powerful right into everyone's palm. Also paying taxes ? lol . "filtering" fake online shop ? lol
but hey they 'invest" in "research"
