E3 2018 sees a brand new logo for the show

The ESA has changed up the logo for the Electronic Entertainment Expo. It replaces the 3D-esque logo that has been a thing for many years.

"Today the ESA is proud to unveil a new logo for E3. We believe this logo better represents how E3 is becoming more boring and irrelevant. Thank you everyone for the many years of continued support as we continue to strive towards this direction."

Minimalistic design strike again

Good. Minimalist and matte make for the most professional looking logos. I like this turnaround from the 90's/00's where things needed to be embossed or have a gradient of some kind.

I mean its all subjective. Maybe in 20 years minimalism will be outdated and the embossed designs will be back in.

When did they stop using actual graphic designers? ;)

Now how about moving it to a city that doesn't completely suck ***!

Chicago? I don't live there, but am close enough,

Can't call it E³ anymore. Sad

Lovin' this flat / minimalistic design trend atm [the 90s and it's horrible embossed / gradients won't be missed]!

I like it. This is fresh and clean.

It looks very old-school. Almost bland. Not sure I like it.

Old school logos would not have looked anything like this Smile

Yes they did. 70s and early 80s. I'm talking about the hyper minimalistic feature-less logo there with pale / bland colors as "un-vibrant" as possible.

The only good minimalsitic logo i have seen
Don't like minimalistic logos otherwise

Thank god. I love the minimalistic flat designs. Looks way more professional and clean.

I strongly dislike it. Too many companies are moving toward this look for their logos.

I really dislike the minimalistic design trend. Everything that has gone this way (from the user interfaces of Windows/MacOS/Android/iOS to the logos of Microsoft, Google, etc.) just look so boring. No "heart" or "character" goes into making them look unique or stand out.

I feel like it's only a trend so "designers" can put in as little effort as possible... I'm just not a fan of everything looking like it was made in MS Paint.

Yeah, all these logos just look so very samey. There's nothing really distinguishing these designs from each other. They're just the name written in a flat, uninteresting font

The more simple something looks, the more effort went into making it.
