Bandai Namco adding more resources for Switch development, didn't think the system would find an audience so quickly

GN Version 5.0

Bandai Namco has three games available on the Switch, and it's clear they want to bring more to the system. Company president Mitsuaki Taguchi wants to boost their Switch support by the start of their next fiscal year, which kicks off in April 2018. The reason behind the slow start for support comes from Bandai Namco's initial belief that the Switch wouldn't catch on with consumers so quickly.

“We have put out three games on the Switch so far and all of them are doing well. It’s a shame, but we didn’t think the Switch [would] be accept this fast.”

Now see, this is a response I can respect. Taguchi is honest about how they felt Switch would take longer to find an audience with consumers. It was a mistake, and now they're working to fix things. What a lovely response to see, especially after the carefully-worded and equally meaningless responses from Capcom and EA.
