RUMOR - Capcom working on two Ace Attorney compilations, new game as well

The following information comes from Kotaku UK's Laura Kate Dale...

Speaking to two independent sources, Kotaku UK has learned that Capcom currently has plans for three Ace Attorney games for Switch. The company is planning to release two compilations in the first half of  the 2018- 2019 financial year (between April 2018 and October 2018), one a compilation of the first three Ace Attorney games, the other compiling Ace Attorney games four through six in the series.

Capcom has apparently also begun work on a new mainline Ace Attorney game, aiming for a late 2018 simultaneous global release on Switch and mobile. The new game is planned to contain five cases at launch, and features Phoenix Wright returning as the playable protagonist of the story.

The Switch will only get the second compilation and it won't be localized.

You know, to test the waters.

Hope its true. With the success of the Switch, more people need to get into the Ace Attorney series. Can't wait for AA7.

I resisted the urge to buy any Ace Attorney games on 3DS and I only ever ended up buying the first one on DS, so I'll be glad I waited when these come to Switch. It will be time to catch up!

Ugh, I really wanted a game focused around Athena. Apollo git his own game and the whole if 6 was centred around him, too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Athena isn't very popular, is she? I think a few cases where she's the focus is the most we can hope.

I think they wanted to move away from Phoenix as the protagonist whit Apollo Justice but it backfired as people really like Phoenix. I liked the balance between Phoenix and Apollo that they used during AA6.

No AAI1+2 compilation? No AAI3? :c

Its cheaper/faster/lazier for them to use the HD assets that the 3DS/mobile releases rather than create new assets for those 2 games (not to mention they would have to localize AA2).

Localization is probably why the aren't doing a The Great Ace Attorney 1 +2 compilation :/

I've never played an Ace Attorney game for some reason, so I'd be cool with a compilation(s) coming to the Switch.

I have a physical copy of every AA game (except the last two). I would definitely double dip for the Switch.

As a big fan of the series, I won't be able to turn that down. AA on the big screen will get me to replay it again. I think a localization of the Great AA games would be just as good as getting AA7 but that ain't going to happen.

Both LKD and Capcom have become pure "I'll believe it when I see it" tier. So I'll believe it when I see it.

Not expecting this to be localized and if it is, it'll be digital only.
