RUMOR - WWE 2K18 will be a surprise launch on Switch, due out by Tuesday at the latest

Years from now, we'll get insight into why 2K was being so strange with WWE 2K18 on the Switch. An ex-employee will share details, and we'll finally have answers about the entire mess. Unfortunately for now, we are left to try and figure things out on our own. That's exactly what the hardcore fans over at the WWE 2K18 forums have been doing.

Through some snooping and various sources, WWE 2K18 forum-goers seem to have discovered that the game will be a "surprise launch" on Switch. What on earth does that mean? Well, from what we understand, it could hit the Switch as early as today, or as late as this Tuesday. Retailers like GameStop are expecting their shipments extremely soon, according to inside sources.

At this point, I just want to play the damn game. I don't care if it's a surprise launch or not. I just want it in my hands!

Thanks to Daveomac for the heads up!

Well that makes me confident that the game is going to be great.

Sounds like it's going to be a shit broken port and they don't want to advertise it. Which is disappointing because NBA 2K18 and LA Noire have been good ports for the most part. I hate for this to come out no one knows about it and then 2K goes "WWE 2K18 sold like shit on Switch so we're gonna have to drop all future support for the console"

That's not a good sign.

Well based on the other versions' reviews and the footage we've seen of the game already, I will not touch this game with even a ten meter pole.

It means they're going to release it immediately after the rumoured Nintendo Direct

A buddy of mine made a great point, with all the negative comments and fan complaints for 2k18 it’s like 2k doesn’t want to draw too much attention to the Switch version. They’ll quietly launch it get the sales from us hardcore fans who have longed for portable wrestling and maybe a few thousand units from casual families buying it for their kids. I just hope it sells enough for us to get 2k19, which is an improved version that launches with everyone else.

I hope RMC has reached out to Ric Flair for comments on this potential surprise release of WWE 2K18 on Switch!
