Nintendo takes top spot on Japanese business magazine's "Rich List"

Toyo Keizai Online, an outlet for one of the three Japanese leading business magazines, has put out their list of 500 richest companies in Japan. Wondering which one has made it to the top of the list this year? None other than the Big N, thanks to the company's 946 billion yen in net reserves. The closest competitor on the list is Sony, which comes in at #4.

Hmm... They must be mistaken because the internet has been telling me for over a decade that Nintendo is on the verge of bankruptcy and they need to go third party. And the internet is never wrong

Isn't it the Internet telling you right now that they're rich, hmm?? Smile

What a year. Also that mobile strategy seems to be paying off. Now if they only could revive some long dormant IPs.

In 2012, they had:

Buried in reams of financial data is the revelation that Nintendo have 812.8 billion Yen (£6.7/$10.5 billion) in the bank, [...]

So... surprisingly, even though 946 billion yen is technically up from that time, if we look at the US$ value, it's now only 8.45 billion $US... Eh, currency is weird like that.
