I remember hearing that supposedly Holy Diver would be hard to release in the US because of the fact the game references a lot of heavy metal musicians and copyrighted songs (the name alone is a reference to a Dio song). I guess maybe some issues were worked out? (similarly this is why the official subs for Jojo tend to change some names, because I guess Araki never realized the legal nightmare the series would potentially go through once it caught on outside of Japan)

Not only that, but I'm pretty sure Holy Diver uses expansion audio chips in its music. I wonder how they worked around that.
