Montpellier, FRANCE, January 4th, 2018 - French indie game studio The Game Bakers have announced that their hit action game Furi is to be released for Nintendo Switch on January 11th.

Furi’s release on Nintendo’s hybrid console is entirely feature complete. The Switch edition includes the boss roster-expanding “One More Fight” DLC, the option to speedrun its ultra-challenging Furier difficulty mode (never before available on console), and all improvements and updates previously added to the game.

Furi was originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2016. It earned considerable critical acclaim for its high-speed, dash-and-slash (and shoot) gameplay set within a boss-rush structure, pitting the player against a series of intimidating enemies, on a mysterious quest for freedom.

Featuring character design by Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki, and an eclectic and electric soundtrack from a range of celebrated producers - including Carpenter Brut, Lorn and The Toxic Avenger - no game looks or sounds quite like Furi. A love letter to Japanese action games like No More Heroes and Godhand, it also stands on its own terms as a singular contemporary experience, one that feels right at home on Nintendo’s Switch console.

The Switch edition of Furi will be available digitally via the Nintendo eShop, priced at £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99.
