Brazilian rating board lists ELEX for Switch release

ELEX is a handcrafted action role-playing experience from the award-winning creators of the Gothic series, set in a brand new post-apocalyptic Science Fantasy universe that puts players into a huge seamless game world full of original characters, mutated creatures, deep moral choices and powerful action.

According to the Brazilian rating board, ELEX is giong to make its way to Switch. That's a bit of a surprising rating to see pop up, as THQ Nordic actually said awhiel back that the game was most likely too demanding to release on Switch. I guess something changed in recent months!

Awesome. These are the kind of games I want on my Switch. Games that take place in a 3D space lol, not just 2D games (those are cool too).

This sounds more like an attempt to break even for Elex. From the look of things, its release wasn't so very well received.

Well this is the first time I am ever hearing about it, but I don't game on PC. It's a horrible name and I'm sure that didn't help it standout on PC where there are honestly a ton of these kind of games. It will sell well on Switch because we lack these type of experiences, so good on THQ Nordiq who continue to show they have a clue, unlike whoever ran THQ in the past.

Depends, I am kind of torn how THQ Nordiq is actually doing. Elex was on the HD Twins as well, and from the lackluster release already up against two major releases a week prior, and the reception being luke warm at best, Elex didn't get much room for growth period.

I am curious why they didn't consider a port of the Darksiders of 1 and 2 on the heels of 3's hype. That would probably garnered more to look their direction on the Switch as opposed to a game that barely anyone remembers. Probably room for more profit (in comparison anyway) than Elex as well.

I agree that Darksiders 1 & 2 should be on the way to Switch by now. 3 as well if possible obviously.

This looks like it has serious potential if the devs keep on improving the game before a Switch release. Its apparently been pretty half baked, but people seem to still be stuck on enjoying it. There have been patches so it could be something really special eventually. I'd never heard of it until now.

Elex is from the creators of Gothic and Risen series of games. From what I hear it's a very Piranha Bytes game, with no character classes or character creation, three major factions to join, clumsy combat, interesting story with a sub-par execution etc. It's probably better than Risen 3, which bodes well.

I'd be surprised if they get it running well on the Switch. Piranha Bytes doesn't have the best track record regarding their technical prowess. It would be interesting still. Gonna keep an eye on it...

This is strictly a personal opinion but I've always felt THQ specializes in what I would consider AA rather than AAA but to me there's a place for that. Darksiders was ok to me, not great. This looks fun! Release it for $40 and I'll buy it for sure.
