Luigi's Mansion remake was quite surprising. Also, did they skip over a Partner's in Time remake?

My goodness, I am excited for that Octo Expansion! I've been hoping for single player content that fleshes out the inkling world, and now that's exactly what we're getting!

Lol they got me good with that smash thing. Definitely thought it was over

Btw i couldnt listen because im in a class. Is it a new smash or do we not know?

You could see Mario as a returning character, but the Inklings and BotW Link are new additions to the roster. So, it could be a definitive version of the WiiU/3DS plus new content or a whole new game, but we don't know.

It's true that the inklings are indeed new characters, but BotW Link could simply be a palette swap like OoT Link (SSBM) to TP Link (SSBB). My money is on that, I really don't think we'll have 3 Links.

Hi there, I'm here to post the only new info that matters.

From the JP Direct run.

Glad that got 3DS done first

2019 for a M&L: BiS port essentially?

LM1 3DS port? Huh. Ok...

Captain Toad port! With Odyssey levels too

Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. Paid DLC. Really thought they'd push playable Octolings as a sequel feature [first here in 2, or before today, in the a third game].

I'm actually more excited about the 3DS news than the Switch, that's because most games on Switch was already announced or rumored, so little surprises for the Switch. I'm interested in knowing if the 3DS version of Captain Toad is going to have everything that is available on the Switch.

Oh there it is.

What a great direct. Seems like Smash will be Nintendo's E3 game which will be pretty awesome.

Edit: Smash Bros has a new website: http://www.smashbros.com/en_US/index.html
It's looking very likely that its Smash 5

Wow, that Smash announcement went about exactly as I thought it would, with them showing it as a surprise at the end of the Direct and pretending it's an announcement for another game at first. I just thought they might use XC2 as the decoy and not Splatoon

I wonder if we'll get Xenoblade characters this time around. We'll probably get Rex (maybe with Pyra) instead of Shulk, that would make sense I guess. What characters from the game would you like to see ?

I have yet to finish the game so I can't say for sure yet, but I am loving all the characters so far! I think I have a bit of a soft spot for Nia, though.

Also, yeah, I imagine that Rex will join together with Pyra as a combo team, like a more sophisticated Ice Climbers. I don't think we need to remove Shulk for that, though

Yup, Nia is pretty cool ^^
That's the one I was thinking about even asking the question. She's well written, overall likeable character with a rather developped personality.

Still no glorious HD Wave Race.

No news/footage of Pikmin 4, which will hopefully make up for Pikmin 3.

Smash Bros. would be nice, if it were a new game, and had an ADVENTURE mode this time. But I'm not going to buy it if it's just MK8 Deluxe treatment of the Wii U game, IE "This time we added in the content that should have been there from the beginning".

I am enthusiastic for Kirby though.

...and had an ADVENTURE mode this time

Smash of the Wild: The World’s a Stage

Guess we know what Nintendo's major focus at E3 is gonna be this year, huh?

That was quite the lame direct. The Jan mini direct was way more exciting IMO. No eShop news of any sort, no VC or at least any sort of mention of Nin online, and tons of late ports to the point it's not even funny. Octopath Traveller in July is the highlight for me and Captain Toad being a port was a nice idea too, but I still bought my new system for new games, and for the hope of it being an all in one machine. The latter still isn't anywhere close to being a real dream.

I didn't really even expect or want a direct, but when it came out of nowhere I'd be lying if I said I hoped it would lead to something epic. And of course they threw in the smash tease to hype everyone up at the end to make them forget about everything else, even though we don't even know if it's a port or new game, nor is it really anything unexpected. (Surprised the Inklings werent SSB4 DLC already)

Okami is so perfect for the switch. They fid just what we said they should. Both motkon and touch. Travis look pure awesomeness :D Smash definite edition eith Inklings. Just keep EVERYTHING from the U and 3DS games... I need my bayonetta ;) octopath just after my Birthday. Now I know what I'm gettin

South Park, Little Nightmares, Bandicoot... not bad

A decent Direct.

I would be more excited about Okami if I didn't had bought the Wii version to play on my WiiU, it's weird how the Switch makes me kind of disapointed of having bought some games.

Hehe. I bought it for Wii and played it there, but finished it later on the Wii U. Still one of my fav games if all time. An HD version with option motion and touch (although only in handheld mode) is good for me. Depends, of course, on the price.

Must....have....solaire amiibo

And tomorrow....Smash delayed until 2019.
If it’s not playable at E3 it’s not going to be releasing this year.

I'm honestly most excited about the free Kirby DLC. If they do a rep from every major Kirby game, Adeline will finally be playable in an adventure, making Brawl in the Family finally canon.

Smash... It's impossible not to get excited about Smash. I'm just happy that we're getting new content and likely patches for the characters. Smash 4 was already a solid game and I think this expansion will be well worth it.

I'm really glad that WarioWare finally gets a new instalment after 9 years. I honestly thought Nintendo was done with WarioWare. Nintendo hasn't been doing a lot with the Wario series in general and WarioWare Gold is actually the first Wario game on the 3DS, but better late than never.

I never played the first Luigi's Mansion, but I liked the second one. The first game looked really good and I always wanted to play it, but I don't know if the 3DS was the best system for the remake. This game would look so good on the Switch, but the 3D graphics did work well with the sequel...

I'm also slightly disappointed by the fact that a Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time remake was skipped. The game is already often overlooked by fans, but now Nintendo does it as well. The game wasn't the best in the series and there were quite a few things that could use some improvements, but that's why it needed a remake more than the Bowser's Inside Story, in my opinion. Still, most people like Bowser's Inside Story better, so it makes sense to remake that game instead of Partners in Time.

I also wasn't expecting Smash Bros. yet. I thought they would have waited for an E3 announcement, but here it is. Not sure if it's a new game or an extended port of the previous Smash Bros. Whatever it is, it'll be fun.

There's just something about the lighting on the 3DS remake that makes it look different from the Gamecube original, but I can't exactly tell what's different. But it's enough to bug me and destroy a bit of the absolutely perfect atmosphere the original had.

In general, I think Luigi's Mansion fits much better on a home console, since atmosphere is very important, and the 3DS can't really produce as much atmosphere as the Switch could

What an excellent Direct.

Really enjoyed it. Especially after all the wet blankets in the announcement post were so sure it wasn’t going to be horrible.

I’m sceptical about Smash being new or a rerelease. In the teaser they framed the game as the Splatoon Characters joining an existing roster.

It could go either way.

Captain Toad is a perfect fit for Switch. I’ll happily replay that game on Switch.

Man owning a Switch really makes me hate myself for buying a Wii U. I should've been like the rest of the world and acted like it didn't exist so I could experience all the definitive ports for the 1st time on a MUCH better console. But here I am a Nintendo sucker who will buy all these games AGAIN....

Overall I think this was a really good direct. SMASH BROS! Crash and South Park are day ones. Captain Toad better not cost $60 like Tropical Freeze when the game originally launched on Wii U for $40.

I know, right? There are still a few games I would be missing out on (Super Mario Maker, Super Mario 3D World, Twilight Princess HD, Made in Wario) but I can do without them. The only game I would really regret missing out on is Xenoblade Chronicles X

You gotta give credit where credit is due.
Ninty has really, as in REALLY upped their game when it comes to the overall presentation of their titles. This Octo trailer was absolutely phenomenal. The music was insane, the presentation made it look deep, intriguing, fun and super badass. Splatoon 2 is far from dead baby, and it has never looked so damn cool !

It looked like a proper ending to a Nintendo Direct honestly, BUT it was only to be topped by the INSANE smash trailer. I mean that was so dope. Minimalistic sound design in a trailer that shows confidence in its bold art direction with levels of badassery that we've just never seen in the series before and rarely in Nintendo productions overall. They got me super excited with mainly confirmations of rumors and only one big thing that was totally unexpected (the octo expansion).

That was just great honestly.
I couldn't be a happier Switch owner right now.

Btw I don't think this is Smash 4. It kind of looked like Inklings were joining the existing roster but no official title or logo plus the brand new Link design from BotW make me think this is indeed Smash 5, even though I find it insane that we're getting it this soon. Also it sort of looks like the game could focus on fewer characters this time, which is my hope personnaly, but we know they have already done that in the past, showing only a couple classic characters at the beginning only to end up with 30+.

For the longest time I thought you were referring to Octopath Traveler when you said "Octo trailer" and was so confused why you'd credit Nintendo for that!

Ah yes. No, that was the Octo expansion for Splatoon 2 I was refering to ^^ Thanks for pointing that out.
It was very, very cool. Excellent music and overall presentation. It blew me away even when I have stopped playing Splatoon 2 for quite some time now.

Also about that SB trailer, what am I talking about 30+ characters ^^ more like 50+, almost 60. Seriously they need to rethink this aspect of the game. We don't need that many characters. My personal expectation is that they will start with fewer characters this time around but most of them completely revamped (BotW Link and possibly Cappy Mario being good examples of that with brand new movesets). Then they will add more via dlc.

Yeah, I already thought Smash 4 had too many characters. If they go even more berserk, I think I'll explode, and not in the good way

Now to wait for Animal Crossing on Switch.
