This update sucks...geez Nintendo where's folders, icon arrangement, messaging system, themes, cloud saving, achievements, eshop overhaul, literally anything else. Yes I get that most of this stuff will be tied to a system update once the online service launches in September. But that's the problem in SEPTEMBER! A year and a half after the system has launched for stuff that should've been there since day one!

Granted the Switch obviously didn't need this stuff to succeed. But man it would've been awesome to have this stuff already, turning the Switch from a pretty good system to a phenomenal system. Oh well I guess I'll continue to wait for Nintendo to leave 1998 and join 2018 like the rest of us.

And no folders still or any sort of way to make the UI look good. When will they get on that? Bah, not much of an update, but GCN controllers do connect MUCH faster than before, as an interesting note. Still wish that 5.0 leak was real, even if it was fake. Would have been a much better 5.0

How disappointing...

Is this really worth a major release number? This could easily be 4.2.

I don't know about Nintendo's conventions, but it does seem drastic to jump from 4.1 to 5.0 without apparent major feature updates. Usually the largest increment is raised when a large portion of code is rewritten or major features are added.

3DS had several jumps to next major version number while adding nothing but stability updates.
I feel everyone got too spoiled by the fake 5.0 video.

Looking through some... "unofficial change logs" it appears that yes, internally the OS had a lot of changes under the hood as well as adding support for.... something.

Looks like a motherboard/SoC revision is on its way, probably to counteract the hardmods and hardware exploits found.

Or... OR we're going to get a *NEW* Nintendo Switch XL Lite & Knuckles model soon! Smile

Considering their recent statements, I very much doubt it. It'll just be a new revision to lock out hardmods and hardware exploits, much like the Wii constantly had motherboard revisions to block drivechips.

On this we agree 100%. IS it time to believe in miracles or maybe Nintendo hould just up their game on this. I ams ure things will change with the paid online, but still....I want to have ndes of myself as back....Nevermind! Smile

Adding friends from Facebook and Twitter is pretty rad.

Not the update I wanted. They are being pretty modest with these icons.

Sweet, I was just thinking I need more Switch friends to add Smile

Can add me if you feel like it! I'm in a friendly mood today Smile

Please use PMs for this kind of exchange.

Well. At least I know how many hours I have played in Zelda again.

Baby steps... Baby steps.

"Fixed" my wide behind!
I had OVER A THOUSAND HOURS of Breath of the Wild game time, and now that this update is out, it's telling me I've only got a little over 610!
And that's just BotW! What about my Binding of Issac? My Voez? My Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, and Azure Striker Pack!?

ALL of them have FAR fewer hours on them than I KNOW I've spent playing them!

This fixed NOTHING.
It TRIED, but it didn't.

The playtime bug did not affect mario odyssey, skyrim, binding of isaac (released on march 17) only games that are at least one year old were affected. So you think that you had that much, but you actually dont.

I know for a fact that I had roughly 514 on Skyrim, and now it's only showing 325.
I'm not going to imagine roughly 200 hours of missed playtime.XD

Check with the parental controls app then, Maybe is just not updated on your log for some strange reason. But the bug never affected Skyrim, at least there is no reports of it.

I need folders! Mostly for a place to put all my demos since they take up too much room. Also, Nintendo needs to work on their version numbering. I don';t know how this warrants 5.0 update when it is nothing major.
