The Switch now knows what color Pro Controller you're using

Our friends at Nintendo Life found out another interesting tidbit tucked away in the Switch's latest firmware update. We're not sure how useful it is on a daily basis, but now your Switch knows what color Pro Controller you have. Maybe Nintendo's using that IR camera to spy on us! Next Switch firmware update will have the Switch seeing EVERYTHING we're doing!

Is it really considered tucked away when it was clearly specified in the patch notes?

It's inside the controller firmware. In fact, there's a program floating on the web that will allow you to change what color the Switch sees your controller as.

After the next firmware update, when you try to play a game your Switch deems unworthy it will say "Can't let you do that [insert your name here]"

Sorry players of Troll and I, Vroom in the Sky, WWE 2K18, Fifa 18, and 1-2 Switch...

Came here to say the same thing

I was wondering the same thing. I knew I had read this before, so it was definitely not a hidden feature. Oh well, we can't expect RMC to be on top of everything

I'm just wondering where the white joycons came from...

You can create fake white JoyCon by painting the original ones and changing a few things with an unofficial tool Smile

Just google for "JoyCon Toolkit"
