I was sooooooo pumped for Shenmue came out for Dreamcast. While it didn't quite hit the heights I was expecting, I still really loved it for what it was. As a matter of fact, I loved it so much that I bought an Xbox just to get the sequel. Now all these years later, a third entry is in the works. Could there be any chance of it coming to Switch?

The gang at Gameblog had that very question, so they reached out to Shenmue 3 director Yu Suzuki about the possibility. Here's the full exchange between the two. Make of it what you will.

Gameblog: When Shenmue III was announced back in 2015, it was slated for PS4 and PC. Since then, the Switch was released – it’s a hit and players ask for every game on Switch. Is it possible, and not necessarily in 2018, for Shenmue III to be released on Switch?”

Suzuki: It’s classified information (laughs).

(Gameblog started to ask their next question when Yu Suzuki interrupted)

Suzuki: Excuse me, wait a second. Regarding Switch, I would like to say that nothing is planned for the moment.
