GN Version 5.0

Bad North is a charming but brutal real-time tactics roguelite, where you defend your idyllic island kingdom against a horde of Viking invaders. The game is set to land on Nintendo Switch this summer and was playable during EGX Rezzed 2018. Plausible Concept is the development team behind the upcoming game, made up of Richard Meredith (Programming, Design & Business Development), Oskar Stålberg (Art, Design & Programming), and Martin Kvale (Audio & Music). we were able to catch up with them during the event…

Nintendo UK: Thanks for taking the time to speak to us! Please could you give us an introduction to Bad North?

Plausible Concept: Bad North is a minimalistic real-time tactics roguelite about fighting Vikings. The game takes place on a series of small, beautiful islands which you defend against marauding Vikings. As you progress from island to island, you will be recruiting and upgrading the squads in your team.

The game is a small-scale and accessible distillation of the RTS genre. We keep interactions and UI super lightweight so that anyone can pick up the game and have fun immediately. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy - there is a lot of depth to the combat hidden under the charming exterior.
