Famitsu reveals their 2017 Games of the Year and more

You thought the 2017 Game of the Year picks were all done? Think again, as Famitsu just released their picks for a number of categories. Both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Dragon Quest XI were chosen as Game of the Year, as Famitsu couldn't pick just one top game.

The Excellence award winners included Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 -Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Kakugo-, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Pokémon Ultra Sun Moon.

Switch took home the Special Prize, with Link winning Best Character, Square Enix getting Game Maker of the Year, and Yuji Horii being awarded the MVP!

Bah -- there can only be one Game of the Year. You have to duke it out. There can be many great competitors, but only one gold medal is awarded.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild should have been given the honour on its own.
