To celebrate the launch of Battle Chasers: Nightwar on Nintendo Switch on 15 May, we wondered what it would have looked like on the shelves during the 1980/90s, the golden age of JRPG gaming that inspired it. Airship Syndicate's critically-acclaimed RPG combines dungeon crawling, turn-based combat and a rich story, all presented in an epic JRPG-style, and is based on the comic book series by Joe Madureira that debuted ten years ago, in 1998.

“Battle Chasers: Nightwar draws its inspiration by the Japanese RPG greats of the 1990s, so it’s great to envision what the game would have looked like if it had been released way back when (back when gluten and casino-mechanics in games were not a thing yet),” said Philipp Brock, PR & Marketing Director, THQNordic. “The game has been warmly received by critics the world over since its initial launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so it’s great to finally be bringing it to Nintendo Switch.”
