Mega Man 11 is digital-only in Europe, "no announcement" on the new Mega Man amiibo

Our friends in Europe are getting the shaft when it comes to Mega Man 11. Capcom has confirmed that the game will be digital-only in Europe, so those who want a phsyical copy will have to import. Furthermore, Capcom said they have "no announcement" on the release of the new Mega Man amiibo. If the game itself is going to be digital-only, I can't imagine the amiibo will see release either.

Thanks to CipherDX for the heads up!

Capcom's decisions concerning the Switch thus far have really perplexed me. I understand if they were hesitant of its success going in, but after a year (year and a half by the time Mega Man 11) releases, it's time to get your act together. The writing is on the wall, and if they don't want my money, I'll keep it.

Capcom's been stingy on physical releases in the West for ages. I still remember when AA5/6 became digital only, along with AAI2 and the two DGS games not getting a release out here at all.

Just like every Switch release from them not called Street FIghter. I dont expect Monster Hunter at this point.

Monster Hunter is confirmed to get a physical release in Europe though. It's EVERYTHING else that won't. Not named Street Fighter or Monster Hunter? Tough luck! Not even Resident Evil is guaranteed any longer!

Monster Hunter isn‘t even published by Capcom outside of Japan, Nintendo is handling it. That‘s the reason Europe is getting a retail version :D

Well, they saved me money. Will not import it and will handle it like I handled it with the two other Mega Man Collections: Getting it for 5 bucks. It‘s a hassle to support this company, unfortunately they still bring good games once in a while.

Oh come on Sad I was waiting for the limited edition to appear on Amazon and now this...

I want that Amiibo, Capcom!

At least I can buy it cheaper at sale, so you are getting less from us européen

at this point i'm convinced Capcom Europe just flat out doesn't have a good budget or care to publish much at retail at all over there. A sad consequence of the rise of digital benefits and being located in a smaller region. Still don't get why they wouldn't at least ask for another company to help out though

Another Capcom game to skip then..

It seems for Australia, they usually take a look at what's happening elsewhere and give us the worst one.

Blah, first Genso Wanderers and now this...

Is there a source fir it? I even pre-ordered it at a UK Retailer.

For what, MM11 or Genso Wanderers?

For the latter, I went to the NISA Europe online store to search for a physical version of the game; I've sent an e-mail to the staff as I didn't find any mention on the game's store, and I received a reply stating that the game won't be released on Switch cartridges for Europe. And since I've learned that the game will have extra DLC content, I'm not willing to import an US copy either, as I'd have to open a Nintendo Network account for the US eShop for just one game if I ever wanted to get all the extra content...

I guess it goes without further saying that I meant Genso Wanderer since we are debating here in the news that Mega Man 11 is coming digitally in Europe ;P

Well, another bummer if that turns out true with Genso Wanderer. Now NISA is doing this crap with second class market Europe. I also hoped the relevant DLC are on the Cartridge.

Just as a heads-up, I've seen so far that the JP version of Genso Wanderer RELOADED had two extra contents to be purchased separately: one launch DLC that adds Himawari Tenshi as a playable character and an extra storyline with three more recruitable characters, released 1-2 months later.

Crapcom, cop the f*** on! Stop treating Nintendo consumers like dirt.

Damn it Capcom, we've waited so long for a new Mega Man and you can't even give us a physical release. Thank God the Switch is region free so we'll be able to import it, but that's still no excuse.

What some might forget here (even though I am disappointed too):

Digital release in Europe: Filling out the IARC form - done

Retail release in Europe: Send the game to all rating boards, pay them and write down all thing the boards want

so in short: Capcom wanted to save about 6000 EUR.

At this rate, I don't know what the hell Capcom is doing anymore...
