Switch hacker group doesn't want you to pirate their piracy software

GN Version 5.0

Well this is a bit awkward, isn't it? Team Xecutor has released SX OS for the Switch, which lets you run homebrew games/apps on the Switch. If you pay Team Xecutor for a license, you can then use SX OS to run pirated versions of copyrighted games, or as piracy groups claim, backed-up versions of your legally-purchased titles.

Earlier in the week, we found out that the SX OS could end up semi-bricking your system. This happens if you try to load the paid version of SX OS without a valid license. In actuality, you can recover your Switch from this semi-bricked state if you know what you're doing, but it's obvious that many won't know the first step to do this. Here's what Team Xecutor had to say on the matter.

"We do not 'brick' any consoles, ever. We do implement inconveniences to safeguard anti-tampering of our SX OS boot file to remain at a competitive advantage. It would simply be bad business to intentionally harm a user’s console.

Our product has been designed with the greatest possible stability and polish. Whenever someone is running our SX OS they can be assured they are running a safe and well-tested product. We cannot guarantee equal functionality and performance when any changes are made and therefore do not support any unauthorized modifications."

Long story short, Team Xecutor wants you to take the legitimate route and pay them for a license when you're planning to go the illegitimate route to play pirated games.
