Christian Picciolini, a self-described former extremist turned peace advocate, claims that white supremacist groups have turned to games like Minecraft and Fortnite to recruit new group members.

"Absolutely! We sought marginalized youth and promised them 'Paradise'. Today they are using nefarious tactics like going to depression and mental health forums and in multiplayer gaming to recruit those same people."

If you've been in an online game with open voice chat, you know just how vile the discussions can be. Hearing something like what Picciolini describes is both shocking and totally believable at the same time. I'd say that over 90% of my time spent listening to strangers over voice chat has involved a large amount of disgusting discussion on topics like this and more.
