PowerSlide was a racing game in the works for the Super Nintendo, and it utilized the Super FX chip. For a number of reasons, the game never made it out to retail. It's been dead ever since, but it seems like that's changing right now. Elite, the creator of the game, have said they're moving forward on a physical release.

"We’ve been talking with the usual suspects for a couple of years about completing and releasing PowerSlide for Nintendo's Super FX hardware. More recently still, we’ve committed some resources and we’re now going to make that happen."

There's still some issues to work out with the cart manufacturing. Namely, the Super FX chip that the cartridges will need. Obviously there are some workarounds that could be done, but those details are to be discussed at another date.

Elite has plans for another SNES cartridge as well. The company released Dirt Racer for the SNES back in 1995, but the game didn't get much praise. Elite believes that with a number of quality-of-life changes to the game, they could really give it a second wind and help it reach the heights it deserved. Elite plans to do just that, and offer the updated game on a new SNES cart.
