GN Version 5.0

A couple weeks back, Nintendo mentioned that their goal is make sure the Switch eShop has about 20-30 new games each week. That certainly sounds engaging from a consumer standpoint, but what do developers and publishers have to say? IGN spoke to a handful to get their impressions.

Jools Watsham, Atooi

"20-30 games per week seems WAY too much. I can't see how this is positive for anyone, honestly. The market is already saturated, but the number of titles developers choose to release isn't under Nintendo's control."

Brjann Sigurgeirsson, Image & Form

"It's obviously quite manageable numbers compared to App Store, Google Play or Steam, but we've always thought those are pretty overcrowded, haven't we."

Devolver Digital

"While anyone that launches a game on the eShop would probably prefer to launch amongst less competition I'd still say that the number of games released alongside yours doesn't matter as much if you have an outstanding, anticipated game."
