Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! drum controller not coming stateside

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! was finally announced for localization in both Europe and North America. There's a bit of a caveat though. The drum controller that released in Japan isn't going to see an official release for the localization. For those who really want the drum accessory, you can still import the controller from Japan.

If anyone's curious, it's $73 on Play-Asia, and $120 on Amazon. I was hoping it would be cheaper. Guess I'll give the game a shot with just the joy-cons, and consider getting the drum after that.

You can get it on Amazon Japan man, just make a Japanese account and click the English site option. It accepts US credit cards and the shipping is pretty quick.

Such great advice, Kaiser!

Just want to add btw, not everything on Amazon Japan can be shipped to US, but the game and drum controller sure can.

Not saying I don't believe you but where's the source? The Polygon website I think said the Drum wasn't going to be bundled in like the Playstation game was.

Such as the Polygon post, this one on GoNintendo does not cite any source to back up that claim...

Journalism at its finest...

" We heard back from Bandai Namco, and as of now, there is no set plan to bring the drum controller to North America.

The game will have a physical release in America on both platforms, but it will be digital-only in Europe."

Although the tweet you posted came after both this GN post and the Polygon one, thanks for the notice!

They should release some Labo drums. Cheap and disposable.

The joy-cons are quite difficult to use with any sort of precision unfortunately. Hopefully there will be a patch for the controllers.
