Dragon Quest XI's Switch development "going well," says series creator, may be teasing something for TGS

When will we see Dragon Quest XI release for the Switch? We honestly have no idea, but at least there's a small update from Square-Enix themselves. Series creator Yuji Horii has said that development on the Switch version “is going well.” Horii hopes he will be able to share more details soon.

Here are Horii's full comments, which seem to tease something for TGS.

“I can’t really talk about it much, but I can say that the Switch version is coming along nicely. You know, there are a lot of possibilities at TGS for all kinds of announcements… Hmm, what else can I say?”

I sense a tiny bit of pessimism in these comments.

Going well into development hell it seems lol

It's going so well that it's a year after it released on other platforms and we still haven't seen so much as a screenshot of the game on Switch. No release date, nothing. And you just know when/if it ever turns up, it'll be compromised. And the game was 30GB's on PS4, so no way is this fitting on a 16GB cartridge. So at the very least it'll be a botched physical release.

A game announced before the nx was even a thing, and 3 years later, we still have nothing from this version. Yeah, we will get pessimist about it

Suuuuure it's going well. When we see the damn game I'll be impressed.

Oh, will we SEE this game before or after Dark Souls releases?

Just come out and say it's cancelled.
