Go hands-on with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at Insomnia63 later this month

GN Version 5.0

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches on Nintendo Switch on December 7th and attendees at Insomnia63 will be able to play the game, as well as other Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS titles.

The following games will be playable at the Nintendo stand throughout Insomnia63:

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Starlink: Battle for Atlas
- Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
- Fortnite
- Paladins
- Overcooked! 2

- Mario Kart 7
- Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon

Nintendo tournaments at Insomnia63

Friday 24th August – ARMS Insomnia63 Grand Prix

Punch your way to the top with ARMS at Insomnia63! Choose any fighter with any combination of ARMS and prove you’re the best in a fun double elimination bracket. Stages will be chosen at random from a limited selection. To register your place in the tournament, please visit the registration desk within the Nintendo UK VS Tournament Zone at the event on Friday 24th August at your earliest convenience.

Saturday 25th August – Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Qualifier Tournament

This tournament will offer qualifier spots in both the Inkling League, for teams of players aged 13 and under, and the Octo League, for teams of any age. Winners of each qualifier will go through to the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Grand Final in November.

We’re accepting pre-registration for both leagues from full teams of 4 or 5 people. To secure your team’s place in the tournament please send an email to NintendoCommunity@Nintendo.co.uk with the subject line “Splatoon 2 Tournament Insomnia63”, providing the names or tags of your team members*. Please note that you will need to purchase a ticket to enter Insomnia63, which you can do so at the Insomnia63 website.

Teams can also still register at the event from 2pm on Friday 24th August, if there is space available. For players not in full teams that attend the event and wish to compete, we will endeavour to match any squids for hire with others looking to create a team if there is space in the tournament.

You can watch the Octo League tournament live on Twitch and YouTube from 11:00 BST.

Sunday 26th August – Mario Tennis Aces Insomnia63 Open

Get on the court with Mario Tennis Aces and show you’ve got what it takes to rise to the top! This singles tournament will use Standard Rules and Extended Play on Stadium Courts only, with KO Loss turned on. This will be a single elimination bracket. To register your place in the tournament, please visit the registration desk within the Nintendo UK VS Tournament Zone at the event from Saturday 25th August.

The top 8 of this tournament will be livestreamed on Twitch and YouTube on Sunday 26th August from 16:00 BST.

Monday 27th August – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Insomnia63 Grand Prix

Think you’ve got what it takes to get on the podium in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Insomnia63 Grand Prix? Race in a 150cc single elimination tournament taking place across increasingly trickier tracks, with the top two racers advancing to the next stage each time! To register your place in the tournament, please visit the registration desk within the Nintendo UK VS Tournament Zone at the event on Monday 27th August.

Insomnia63 is held on 24th-27th August at the NEC, Birmingham. If you’d like to join us you can buy tickets for Insomnia63 at the official Insomnia website. You can get 10% off the ticket price when you apply the following code at purchase: i63Nintendo

If you’re attending the event, make sure to bring your Nintendo Switch so you can play with other fans at the event. We’ll have charging stations for you to use as well!
