The levels haven't been remade from scratch. They've been for the most part touched up and given a fresh coat of paint. I see some stages where they've made slight tweaks to the assets. You can't say there are any stages that look drastically different or better.

The levels look almost identical to their appearance in Smash 64, therefore it's a port of Smash 64.

Yeah, I mean it even has the same characters.

To think Nintendo would have the gall to charge full price for what is basically a almost 20 year old game port, with a couple of new characters and stages, and some light touchups... Shame on them and their greed

The comments haven't been remade from scratch. They've been for the most part lifted up and given a stale lick of trolling. I see some trolls where they've made desperate efforts to be funny. You can't say there's any comment that looks drastically, different or better.

Hey! This was actually funny!
We are reaching new levels of meta right now! I like where this is going (even though it's a bit off topic...)

You know, the people quoting my comment haven't copied all of it. They conveniently leave out the opening sentence, which is crucial, with the word "upgraded" in capital letters. It's clearly not a straight port and I've said it's "an UPGRADED port". Huge difference. But telling the truth isn't their motivation. It also shows them up for what they are. Trolls. Particularly the first person in this thread. He's been on my block list here and elsewhere. He's a truly obnoxious troll.

I'm well aware of what they were doing, the comment I found funny was yours... I thought it was witty, you didn't have to explain the joke to me...

I'm all for it if Sliggy becomes our very own TJ "Henry" Yoshi

Looks right out of Mario Maker now

Hahahaha. Thanjs for the LOLs, guys! Smile

[admits I'm on his block list]

[demonstrates that he has seen my comment anyway]

Why block someone if you’re going to just go to the trouble of reading the story while not logged in so you can see the comments of the person you didn’t want to see in the first place? LOL 😂

That's the problem I'm having. I see the comments when I just want to be completely unaware so I don't respond angrily.

Wtf? So in Ultimate they crop the field of view for stages in widescreen instead of expand the left and right view? So you actually see less of a stage compared to the N64 version? That's so backwards. Who decided on THAT?

Good grief! The amount of times you complain on this website over some truly asinine things is quite astounding, to say the least. You, Sliggy and t27duck are easily the worst offenders when it comes to this it seems. It’s like you all live in a world where only jaded, cynical and shortsighted opinions are the norm. I honestly could not imagine being so negative all the time, especially in regards to something that I enjoy. If I were to become like you, I think I would find another hobby, or perhaps spend my energy elsewhere where it might actually matter.

I just struggle to understand why you and so many others online get so upset or annoyed constantly over video games. Life is far too short to get upset over such trivial matters, especially stuff like this. You and many others on the internet are exactly why I stopped treating video games as seriously as I once did. It’s pointless, it ruins the fun out of the hobby, and it changes you into a truly miserable being.

I'm critical of Nintendo because I love Nintendo and I want them to do better. Especially in cases when I most certainly know they can (but yet don't for some reason).

Besides, would you rather I just leave yet another comment praising Nintendo as a company that can do nothing wrong? Would you rather I just attack those who dare to notice flaws that others would gloss over? If I was mindlessly trolling and just talking shit without any constructive criticism, I could understand you being mad, but I give this criticism because I want to see if anyone else sees how convoluted some of Nintendo's decisions are or if maybe there's hidden reasoning that I hadn't yet considered. I open the door for those sort of discussions.

I give Nintendo my money because they've got a remarkably consistent track record with their games, if nothing else, so when I buy a system of theirs I just want to see the best products and services possible from what I purchase. If Nintendo gets stuff right with their systems, their stuff sales, and they attract the attention of more 3rd party devs. So Nintendo doing well does concern me, on more than just a personal love for Nintendo.

(But I am still annoyed that E3 was just a Smash direct and maybe that's still coloring some of my Smash comments. *sigh* There's always next year...)

Don't you understand? He "gives Nintendo his money" unlike other gamers so he's in control of what they do. If they fail to meet his exacting standards, its a sign of disrespect towards the one guy who finances Nintendo's entire operation. And if you don't agree with any of his points, you're "the kind of person who doesn't appreciate the finer points of game design and would be happy with anything."

The difference between "happy with anything" and "not four-paragraphs worth of upset over screen scaling?" May be okay for us normies but that's only because we haven't "given Nintendo our money" and thus don't run the company. It's true: I've never "given Nintendo my money." I've "bought Nintendo products," however. Entitling me to the product purchased, but not a seat at the dev table. Too much stress.

Finally someone understands.
