Blizzard explains why they decided to bring Diablo III to Switch

While we all had heard the rumors of Diablo III coming to Switch, we finally got confirmation last week. What we hadn't heard up to this point is why the company decided to do it. In a GameSpot interview with senior producer Pete Stilwell, we finally got an explanation.

"We were essentially sitting around and talking about projects that would be amazing and additive to what the company has, and maybe even trailblaze some new things. The Switch was a thing we were all playing, and something we were all interested in. We thought of it as something sweet to bring [Diablo III] onto, and then we started experimenting with the Switch and then got to talking with Nintendo--where we believed that it would be feasible and fun to play on. We wanted to guarantee that it would be smooth and responsive, to ensure that it was everything that you wanted it to be for an [action RPG]."

I’m going to guess the almighty allar

That’s easy: cash money, homie.

The answer's obvious. They seen everyone else being lazy porting old games onto Switch and charging full whack for minimal effort and thought to themselves, "We can do that. New game? Nah! That's too much like work. Here, have a 6 year old PS3 game. That'll be $60, muggins."
