Streets of Rage 4 publisher says the game would be a 'great fit' for Switch, but stops short of confirmation

I am dying to talk about Streets of Rage 4 here on GoNintendo, but no platforms have been confirmed for the game. I mean, you would think the game is a lock for Switch, right? While no one involved with the project has given a confirmation yet, we do have a great tease from Cyrille Imbert, CEO of publisher DotEmu. When asked by Nintendo Life whether the game was coming to Switch, he had this to say.

"We can’t confirm anything at this stage but that would be great, wouldn’t it?"

For the life of me, I'll never understand why games are announced without platform confirmations. Surely at least some platforms are being targeted. Is it really too up-in-the-air at this point to lock down platforms?

Streets of Rage 4!!!!
It'll land on Switch eventually; no doubt about it. It's only just a matter of time.
I'm already think of how it would look as a physical boxed release.

While it's great that Sega is bringing streets of rage back, it's still baffling that it took them this long to do so.

Even kid Icarus revival makes more sense than this.

Game looks like complete mobile-phone caliber garbage, the art style is completely wrong, it looks cheap and there's no SOR style or grit to it at all, the combat looks loose and sloppy, plus there's no Yuzo Koshiro music.

That's three strikes, I'm out.
