Dragon Marked for Death - New details on character abilities and more
Inti Creates is showing off Dragon Marked for Death at TGS 2018, and now we have some new hands-on details from the gameplay demo at their booth.
- each of the four playable characters has their own unique move set
- the Empress has a three-hit slash combo with her sword and an arm cannon
- she also has a slow but hard-hitting Dragon Sword special
- she can fire out a stream of huge fireballs that continue for as long as she has energy by charging her cannon
- the Empress also has a grappling hook for traversing specific points.
- the Shinobi has a double-jump, dash and air dash, gliding, and wall-climbing abilities
- the Warrior has a barrier that nullifies enemy attacks
- the Witch has to chant incantations and must remain still while chanting
- characters will use their moves to get through levels in completely different ways
- the Empress will use grapple points, the Shinobi double-jumps to platforms, the Warrior moves blocks, and the Witch levitates platforms
- the boss of the demo stage is a horse monster named the Equus that charges at the player, kicks up icicles, and starts casting large area-of-effect ice spells once low on health
- the multiplayer stage is puzzle-free, but has lots of cooperative platforming, and ends with a fight against a giant Goblin Prince
- some of the Witch's spells require six to eight face button presses after hitting R
- with the Witch, a homing shot which six button presses to chant
- a spell can be used infinite times once prepared
- the game is made up of individual stages, and is not a Metroidvania
