Bayonetta 3 not on the most wanted list? How dare you? And did Nintendo do THAT bad taht they didn't get on the best studio list?

Well to be fair Nintendo hasn't released that many new games this year. I mean Kirby Star Allies? A very mediocre 2D platformer. Mario Tennis Aces? A fun game but lacks content. Sushi Striker? An overpriced 3DS port of a niche puzzle game. That's only 3 new games so far the rest of the year was a bunch of overpriced Wii U ports. Not to mention the OVERWHELMINGLY negative reception to Nintendo Switch Online. Can't really judge the rest of the year yet because we haven't gotten there yet. Super Mario Party is a cool game but we don't know if it will actually be good and even if it was it's not a AAA Nintendo release. Pokemon Let's Go seems to be REALLY divided between the fanbase and once again I don't see that game being a GOTY contender. Smash Ultimate is really the only game released from Nintendo this year that has a shot at being a GOTY nominee.

I FULLY expect Nintendo to be on there next year for SURE. 2019 is looking better than 2017 and a hell of a lot better than this year with Yoshi's Crafted World, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Pokemon Gen 8, Bayonetta 3, Town, Daemon X Machina, Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing. That list is ALREADY stacked and we don't know if Nintendo has any more surprises for 2019. 2019 is shaping up to be fantastic.

You know, those are all very good points. Maybe I'm just used to seeing them on there. But what gets me riled up is that many games aren't even out yet, so why make a list now? It's still September.

Unsure we'll MP4 next year though.

ouch. Pretty deserved, though.

I do wonder about games released in December. I looked up an article on last years awards and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 wasn't nominated for best Nintendo game (or anything else) and it's not up for anything this year either.

Really stupid that sound design and music are squashed in to one category, with only one game in there for its soundtrack.

Yeah, I just assumed Octopath was a shoo-in for its GOAT-caliber soundtrack, but apparently not lol

Yeah, after not seeing Octopath on that list I din't bother finishing the vote.

Those award lists go to show how much of a poor year Nintendo have had. "Nintendo Game of the Year" makes for very sad reading. Like we all don't know what'll win there. OT.
