GN Version 5.0

Lapis x Labyrinth was on display at TGS 2018, and even got a segment where the game's producer shared a bunch of new details. We have a round-up of details from that segment, which you can find below.

- Lapis x Labyrinth is the result of another Nippon Ichi internal game competition
- the game's development is nearly done, and is in the testing phase
- the term ‘Dango’ is just a meta phrase that is half meant to be a joke for the battle system
- the game originally let players change character outfits in addition to the current color variations and hairstyles
- due to time and staff restraints, this idea was cut
- the game originally only had six job classes, but this has been increased to eight
- two of these jobs were going to be locked, but then the team decided to open them all up from the start
- the producer recommends using the Hunter, who can absorb enemy health
- the producer also recommended the Shielder, who has strong defenses
- experienced players can try out the Gunner, who specializes in firepower
- the game takes around 20 hours to complete, but expert players might be able to do it in 10
- the game was balanced to be on the easier end in order to fit the cutesy look
- there are no multiplayer elements in this game, offline or online
- the team wanted to focus on making a purely single-player experience
- if the game sells well enough for a sequel, then the team wants to add in multiplayer
- there is no DLC planned for this gam
- the game is set to release in Asia in Spring 2019, and will include Chinese text
