GN Version 5.0

Square-Enix is bringing a TON of Final Fantasy games to the Switch, including World of Final Fantasy Maxima. Hiroki Chiba is the director for that title, and he had some tidbits to share about the upcoming Switch version.

- the original release sold 200,000 units in Japan and 900,000 units overseas,
- Chiba got the impression that there were still more people that wanted to play it
- Chiba wanted to bring the game to other consoles to “balance it out” among other titles
- Square-Enix and Nintendo originally rejected the proposal
- Chiba continued the PC version’s development and eventually received permission to develop for Switch

I wish Chiba would have shared details on why both Square-Enix and Nintendo shot down the idea of bringing World of Final Fantasy Maxima to Switch. We don't even get to hear what changed Square-Enix's mind! I guess we'll just have to live with being happy that they did!
